I'm almost 17 years old and i've had my period for about 4 years. i'm fairly regular i get my period about each 32 days i believe.

but for the past year and a half almost everytime i get my period i have cramps that are so unbelievably painful. i get so dizzy i nearly pass out and i can't walk. i vomit and have diarrhea. and i get soo hot i have sweat rolling down my face and back. andd its really heavy the first two days i can't seem to keep up with changing tampons. i take midol but it seems it only works after the first day to lessen the painful cramps.

i just want to know what could possibly be happening. and if it's going to affect me having babies and all.

thanks for listening and helping me =]

Answer:
hello, goodness it sounds like you really suffer when you get your period. Have you been to the physicians yet?when thinking about going to the gynecologists it seems so embarassing but it isnt as bad as you think, honestly.Anyways without beeing a doctor myself you may have polycystic ovaries or possibly endomitriosis. Please go to the doc and see what it is,as it will only get worse and its not worth suffering like this.
best of luck

Answer:
It sounds like your having extremely painful periods and I'm sure you cannot function properly being that sick.
This is probably normal, but its interfering with your life when you have your periods.
I would discuss this with a gynecologist to see what they recommend for you. It sounds like your having an unusual amount of bleeding the first 2 days also. Please contact your doctor for advice on this.

Answer:
It is possible you suffer from PMDD, not to be confused with PMS. If you’ve PMDD, you might want to get medical assistance. It is much more severe than regular period symptoms and some birth control pills actually make the symptoms decrease or go away completely. Having babies did help my symptoms some, but that does not work for all? My aunt has three kids and still has severe menstural symptoms, but recently discovered it was PMDD. All medical concerns should be referred to a doctor.

Answer:
its normal don't worry
i find that ibuprofen is better then midol
you can always get on the pill and that’ll help regulate it more its supposed to be ever 27 - 28 days not 32…
drink a lot a lot of water about 14 cups a day it should help a lil
and it shouldn't effect anything with getting pregnant in the future

Answer:
thats how i get sometime….

its probably because of the things you eat… i notice when i eat salty foods before i come on my cramps are extra painful…. but when i dont they’re still painful but not as painful…..

Also taking hot baths make you bleed heavier… im not sure if midol has the same type of drugs in it as other pain killers… like advil and tylenol but they also thin out your blood and make you bleed heavier

Answer:
I would go see a doctor they could tell you a lot more, and maybe prescribe you something a tiny stronger than midol. It could just be hormones but you should let a physician know, you never know it could be something that could keep you from having children if left untreated.

Answer:

I've heard of cramp in a period pain but nothing too unbearable and nothing that makes you vomit and diarrhea.

Hope i helped :D

Some women just get much worse cramps than others. I was like you and had such breathtaking pain when I was on my period.

A friend of mine (who isn’t sexually active) had the same problem. She would be in intense pain with cramps. Her doctor suggested going on birth control pills to regulate her period and to reduce cramps symptoms. She did, and feels great now. Her period got way shorter and she barely gets cramps.

I did the same thing, and since I started taking birth control pills, my cramps have been really good. Not very painful at all, and sometimes nonexistant. It made my period go from 7 days to 3 days long, and I rarely get cramps.

Go on the pill, it works wonders!

Answer:
Hi,

When I was your age, I had horrible cramps and heavy periods. I went through many physicians until I found one that was familiar with the disease called Endometriosis. I had my first lap procedure at age 19 and many surgeries and treatments after that. I experienced many of the same symptoms as yourself - cramping, heavy periods, etc.
Ultrasounds are not effective in diagnosing Endo and neither are pelvic exams. The only way to get proper diagnosis would be the lap procedure.

The best thing to do is to see a GYN that can properly diagnose you and treat you should you have a disease. Because many disease are not properly diagnosed, many women can suffer from infertility.

Then again, there might be nothing wrong, but it helps to be checked out regardless.

Best wishes!

PS - The reason I am mentioning Endometriosis is because we are seeing more young women (16-19 yrs of age) that are being diagnosed with this disease.
