My friend has been having an abnormal color discharge?

Ok, so the other day, my friend and I were in the bathroom of McDonalds, and I was fixing my hair n she was in the stall. All of a sudden (sorry this may sound REALLY gross) she told me about how she's been having redish/brownish color discharge for about a week. She also told me it hurts really bad when she wipes after going to the bathroom. I told her she should probably go check it out because that's not normal. I asked her if she was on her period, and she said no it was two weeks ago. She's a virgin, so there's no change that it's a miscarriage, or any STD or anything like that. What could this be? I'm kind of worried…. Thanks for your help in advance.
