Is it true that one week in a pack of birth control pills is only sugar pills? Which week is it the first or last? If it's only sugar pills then why even take them?
Answer:
The last 7 pills of a birth control pack are placebo. The only purpose they serve is to keep you on schedule. Nothing more. The person who stated “they begin your period” is mistaken. The last 7 pills do nothing to your body at all. Some people take them to keep on schedule, which is their purpose. I don't personally take them. There is no harm either way.
“The last 7 pills of a 28-day pack have no hormones and are called spacer pills.”
Check out the website below. It explains all parts of the pack include the last week of pills.
Answer:
The “sugar” pills should be a different color than the rest of your pills and they should be towards the bottom or at the very end of the pack of pills. The aren't necessarily made out of sugar, they are usually an iron supplement to help your body cope with the loss of blood during your period. They also act as reminder pills so you stay in the habit of taking them regularly.
Answer:
in the 28 pack_ the last 7 pills are sugar pills
the sugar pills start your period
in the 21 pack- you take only the active pills for 3 weeks
no pills the last week…and you get your period the week of no pills
and then you buy a new pack and start for the follwing month
i think maybe if you dont want to take the sugar pills you should get a 21 day BC. it only active pills for 3 weeks straight..then no pills the last week and your period should come.
then you must go and get a new pack for the next 3 weeks
Answer:
The placebos are there to keep you on schedule. Some packs call them reminder pills so that you aren't going a whole week without taking them and then maybe forget to take the active pills when the week is up.
I don't know if they serve any medical purpose, but they're there so you stay in the habit of taking your pills.
Answer:
You continue to take them so you don't forget to take the next set. You will get your period when you take the last set of pills. I hope this helps you.
