I really hate having my period at school. i wear pads and i'm always afraid i might leak. it also isn't the most pleasant smelling thing and i don't normally wear perfume. any recommendations?
also, what are somethings that eliminate cramps and crabbiness?
Answer:
As the others have stated, don't worry about the smell, no one else will notice it!
Also, pads are great at their job and aren't apt to let you leak much if at all. But just in case you do, make sure you don't wear skirts and wear pads that have wings. If you have to wear school uniform you will most probably wear black trousers right? So even if you do leak no one is going to notice and you won't leak a lot anyway. If you don't have to wear a uniform, try to wear dark trousers each day you’ve a period, then you'll know that if you do leak it at least won't be noticeable.
A great way to relieve the pain is to find the pressure point in your stomach. Do this by measuring 3 finger widths below the belly button and then pressing down for a bit, this should help a lot!
Crabbiness can't really be helped I'm afraid. Although if you make sure you change your pad regularly and shower daily, you will feel refreshed and superior in yourself.
Hope you feel better soon hun!

Keep track of your period with a calender. Even if it irregular there will probably some type of pattern. A couple days before wear panty liners. They’re a lot more comfortable than pads. You can eliminate cramps with medicine, heating pad, or a hot water bottle. I always use a heating pad and it works great.

I wear pads too, and I’ve a very very heavy period. On my heavy days I feel like I’m going to leak too! I know this sounds stupid, but here are a couple things you could do if you don’t want to wear tampons. Some days I wear the maximum absorbency overnight pads during the day, I know they feel like diapers, but I would rather wear one than leak. If you are like me, when I first got my period, I was freaked out about leaking, so I bought some Goodnites training pants that are supposed to be used for bedwetting problems, and wore them during the night and even day. I know it is freaky sounding to wear diapers for periods, but you sure will not have to think twice about leaking!!!

I wouldn't worry about the smell if I were you. Usually you smell it yourself, but others don't notice a thing! Just make sure you change your pad regularly and you'll be fine.
And, for leak worries, wear dark pants during your period (try to avoid skirts).
And, maybe consider wearing a tampon w/ a pad for back up?
