The other night I had sex with this guy I'm seeing. We had sex a couple of times and it lasted a long time. I don't naturally lubricate a lot and we ran out of the KY. We used condoms each time. I didn't shower within the next 12 hours like I normally would (i know that's nasty), but I got a little irritated down there and when I showered, I was still irritated. I have genital herpes and I didn't think it was an outbreak. I put alcohol down there, but could I have possibly caused a yeast infection or is my problem simply from not enough lubrication.

Basically there is itching and a little burning, but it doesn't burn when I pee. It's getting superior now because I took a Valtrex this day.

Answer:
You’ve irritated the skin since you were not so lubricated. The skin gets chaped, like a rug burn. The skin will heal. If you’re worried about yeast infections, eat 1 yogurt a day that has live cultures in it like Yoplait.
