Question about hpv?

Author: admin

So I had a pap smear last year and things came back abnormal, I had to go in for a colposcopy, where they diagnosed me with hpv. I went in for a repap a month ago and she told me everything looked fine and normal. NOW I had sex with my boyfriend and the next day find a small bump by my vagina. omg I am freaking out. We used a condom but why would the bump show up so soon- I have not had sex with anyone to get a different strain of it or anything, but I am so worried- what if that wart was there and he gets it!? Is hpv more contagious if warts are present? I have never ever had warts in my life, if that is even what it is? I am going to the doctor but I feel so awful. I guess my other question is why would I get warts again after the doctor told me i was fine? Thanks.

Answer:
There are many different types of HPV which im sure you are aware of. If you have not had sex with anyone else(and neither has your partner), and everything looked normal at your last check up, then you probably DONT have the type of HPV that causes genital warts. Your bump could be an ingrown hair??? What does it look like?? You are smart to be going and getting it checked out though. Praise to you for learning from your mistake and using condoms!! Good luck Im sure you'll be fine!

Answer:
Genital warts have a white "cauliflower" top. Your bump may be an ingrown hair, which is not uncommon to happen, especially if you shave.

I think HPV is contagious whether your symptoms have cleared up or not.

Answer:
It could have resurfaced. Or he could of had something too…..Or it could just be an ingrown hair…check with your doctor, but until then relax.

Answer:
it could have just shown up. honest him having sex with you probably didnt do it. it showed up bc u are stressed most likely or sick. Ok here go to the gyno, show her, and she will "freeze" it off. and everything will be ok……… since u have hpv (like me) it can happen every once and a while where u get a wart. no big deal. just remember it never goes away and u can spread it really easily through vaginal fluid!

Answer:
There's no cure for HPV. You're stuck with it. You will most likely have outbreaks now and then for the rest of your life.

Although, to not totally freak you out. Some people's immune system will get rid of it in about two years. But I don't know anyone who got it and then got rid of it, and I know several people who have it.

I think the degree of outbreaks depends on the individual, not really the gender. My cousin has it and she almost never has outbreaks, but her husband has them frequently. (From what she tells me, I've never checked, lol.)
