i know HIV is checked through blood. but as far as chlamydia and gonorrhea….. usually a culture is done (painful little object to swap the private area) also a urine sample is taken. is a culture ALWAYS nessessary?? or can they just use the urine to see if the bacteria is in your urine?

Answer:
A culture is your ideal and most accurate way to test for any STD that is bacterial in nature.

The pratice of taking urine to test for these certain STD's is slowly being phased out, due to the accurate nature of cultures.

It sucks and it hurts but you got to do what you got to do.
