Vasectomy Question?

Author: admin

My husband and I have been discussing the possibility of a him having a vasectomy, because we are not interested in having children. We are 24 years old and have felt this way for a while. Now I understand that we may change our minds in a few years from now but at the moment we want to look into this option. My questions are: Can vasectomies be reversed? Is he eligible for them at his age?

I cannot use the contraceptive pill as it disagrees with my body.

People with experience or know someone with experience, I would appreciate your advice.x

Answer:
I am almost 42. I had a vasectomy at 21. I am "Child free" and very happy about it 20 years later.

My girlfriend had her tubes tied when she was 25. She is now 37.

The minimum age is 18, and there is no requirement for a minimum number of children. Don't let anyone tell you different. If he gets refused by the clinic, then he should just go to a different clinic. Most are open minded to what "Child free" means these days.

Reversals are very expensive and seldom successful. They should not be considered a viable option.

Answer:
a vasectomy can be reversed but not always successfully i would wait before doing anything drastic

Answer:
yes it usually can be reversed, but please at 24 years old dont do it! he can wear a condom cant he! not sure if he is eligible though, the doctor might think you are being too hasty

Answer:
Yes vasectomies can be reversed. As fo if he is eligible at 24… That would depend on where you live and the laws in your state. Im not sure how the laws govern vasectomies, but i know women cant have their tubes tied in the state of florida until they're 25.

Answer:
If you're from the UK then they probably would'nt carry out a vasectomy at your age without very good reasons. This should not be looked at as a form of temporary contraception.

Answer:
it can be

but doesnt always work

just use a condom

Answer:
Even if he had a vasectomy there's no certainty that it would be possible to reverse it.

Why not get your tubes 'tied'? That can be reversed quite easily.

Or have you tried the contraceptive jab? Both my wife and stepdaughter have used that, one injection every 3 months, but talk it over with your doctor.
