My boyfriend is a transgender man who is just starting to trasition. He hasn't started taking testosterone yet, and my worry is that he'll become much more aggressive. I don't want to address this to him for fear that he'll feel like I'm not fully supportive of his identity (which I absolutely am). Does anyone know specifically the effects of testosterone, especially how it can effect FTMs?
Answer:
Mk … I take depo- testosterone injections 200 mils every two weeks because of loss of my testicles from an accident years ago. It does cause aggressiveness, I’ve to keep watch myself to recognize when to keep it in check. I get mean moods and will go off on my wife. I would never hit or hurt her, but i get in nasty moods which i will cuss at her and start arguments out of the blue. It causes weight gain, face ballooning, high blood pressure, thickening of skin, cancer, liver problems, and many other side effects. Keep your guard up for the changes so as to maker him or her aware, so they have the ability to see it for them self's when it happens. I wish you both the ideal, and hope this is help full. Good luck! Steve
