To make a long story short, I've been in a relationship with my boyfriend for over 3 years. He’s ignoring me when I call the past 2 days (he ALWAYS picks up). We’ve both been stressed with finals for graduating from college, and his landscaping business has been extremely busy, etc. But I deserve a 10 minute phone call you know?
From a guy's perspective, is it appropriate for me to confide in his mom / ask her for advice? I want to see if she has the ability to talk to him, see what his problem is. Typically there are red flags going up when someone is going to dump you but things have seemed fine lately. I do NOT believe he's cheating on me because frankly he doesnt have the time. He is extremely busy with his business.
Anyway, I feel pretty comfortable with his mother after knowing her almost 4 years..Is this OK to talk to her a bit? I wouldn't get too personal about us, put him down or trash him, etc. If your girlfriend chatted with your mom a bit because she cares about the relationship would you be fine with it? And think it's nice that your girlfriend is comfortable with mother? Or..would you be mad? I feel she could get him to open up..He didn't really have a relationship before me, so I've cut him some slack. But I'm worried. Any advice greatly appreciated..I had asked this question (not being geared directly towards guys) and got very blended responses. Some said it's absolutely fine to speak a tiny to the bf's mom, others were against it. Wondering what the guys feel about something like this!! thx!!

I certainly wouldn't want my mom involved in my romantic life, outside of being cordial with my girlfriend/wife that is. The inner workings of your relationship is no business of his mother, this is something you’ll have to work out with him directly. There might be a number of guys here who state they'd be ok with something like this, but rest assured, your BF will flip his wig if you go talk to his ma, especially if you haven't talked to HIM first!
Instead of repeatedly calling him, or thinking about talking to his ma, go to where he lives when you know he'll be home and speak to him face to face.

It's nice that you get along with his mom, but NOT a good idea to speak with her about your “relationship.” If you were married, I'd state yes… but you're not. Speaking with her could put HER in an uncomfortable “middleman” position, and it could most definitely make HIM feel like he's outnumbered and you're ganging up or pressuring him… Or, she could be saying one thing to you and absolutely another to him behind your back.
Best to keep your “relationship” with him out of your conversations with her.

idk, you shuld try going to his place, just surprising him. tell him that you have to speak. if everything is like you state it is, then he shuldnt mind talking a little about ure relationship. but if he is cheating he might get irritated, frustrated, or even angry that you just “happened” to show up. if he doesnt want to talk to you, then i would say go to his mom. I'm a guy and i wuld much like you to talk to me first, before my mom. also, its okay for a guys girlfriend to have a good relationship with his mom, it can't injured, anyway

Don't get too pushy or you will turn him off. Make sure MOM can keep her mouth shut if you speak to her ABOUT him! If she blabs everything to him - he’ll run the other way. You are NOT dating or interested in marrying his MOM! You are right about the possibility of him being stressed out due to exams, and being busy with his business. He has the ability to only do so much - if he stretches himself too thin, I'm sure it can take its' toll. When you already KNOW what he's going thru, then you are being a wee bit selfish to demand his attention when there aren't enough hours in the day to get everything done as it is. I would think right about now his landscaping business needs his full attention with the Spring weather in full swing & he needs to make as much money as possible while it is available. Back off a little bit - or - you could end up losing him.
